RCB defeated Mumbai Indians by two wickets on the final ball

Team Chabuk-Sports Desk: In the first match of IPL-14, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Mumbai Indians by two wickets on the final ball. RCB’s team landed in the first match of an IPL season for the fourth time. He did not win in the last three matches but this time Virat’s team started with a win.

With the help of fast bowler Harshal Patel (5/27), RCB restricted the defending champions Mumbai Indians to 159 for nine in the first match of IPL-14 and then Virat (33), Maxwell (39) and de Villiers (48) with the help of, they scored 160 runs for 8 wickets on the last ball and won. The Mumbai team could not win their opening match since 2013 and the series continued on Friday.

Chasing the target, RCB captain Virat Kohli (33) landed the start of the innings with fellow Washington Sundar (10). In the fifth over, Sundar was caught by Krunal in the hands of Lynn. Eight balls later Rajat Patidar (08) was bowled by Boult. The team’s score was 46 for two in the first six over’s of the power play. Seven runs were required in the last over, four runs off the first three balls. Three runs off the final three balls required De Villiers to be run out. The score was equalized on the fifth ball and on the final ball; Harshal took a run and won the RCB.

Virat Kohli won the toss

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and took Mumbai to bat first. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma (19) was run out in the fourth over due to a misunderstanding with Lynn. Chris Lynn (49) and Suryakumar Yadav (31) added 70 runs on the second wicket. Surya’s wicket went to Jamieson, playing his first match of the IPL. Suryakumar also hit a superb six over deep midwicket. Reserve opener Lynn was caught by Sundar on his own ball. Ishan (28) and Hardik (13) were also victims of Harshal Patel. In the Power play, Mumbai scored 41 runs for one wicket.

Mumbai stuck in death over’s

The Bangalore bowlers performed brilliantly in the death over’s and Mumbai managed to score just 25 runs in the last four over’s. Four wickets fell in the final over of Harshal and only one run scored. Harshal completed his five wickets on the first two balls, dismissing Krunal (07) and Kieron Pollard (07) and Jenson (00) off the fourth ball. Rahul Chahar was runout on the last ball.
