Team Chabuk-National Desk: During the corona vaccination in the country, more than 58 lakh doses of the vaccine have been wasted in various states. The central government bought them at the rate of Rs 150 per dose. Accordingly, the government has lost more than 87 crore in 88 days of vaccination.
The latest vaccination review report in the states has revealed that so far, 58,36,592 doses have been wasted, costing around Rs 87.55 lakh. In the most affected state of Maharashtra, 90 lakhs of the 1.06 crore doses given so far have been used, while more than five lakh doses have to be destroyed. Due to this, there is a loss of about seven and a half crores.
According to the report, the rate of vaccine wastage has not reached zero in any state except Kerala. Five times in the last 35 days, strict instructions have been given to the states for this. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan says, in some states, the rate of vaccine wastage is up to eight to nine per cent, which is a matter of concern.
covishield vaccine supplements with covaxin are also being wasted. In many centers, the situation is that after four hours the entire vial has to be destroyed, which is directly damaged by the center.
Actually, a vowel of covishield has a dose of 10 people. While one vial of covaxin has 20 doses. Once the vial is open, it is necessary to put all the doses within four hours, but at the centers it is seen that every one to four doses are being wasted.
Calculated like this

While the total consumption in the states is 11,43, There have been 69,677 dosages. According to these figures, till date more than 58 lakh doses have been destroyed.
So much loss

Whereas the person charges Rs. 100 per service plus 250 rupees per dose at the private center. In this way, more than Rs 87 crore has been lost so far. If this process does not stop soon, then the value of the wasted dose in the next one to two weeks can be Rs 100 crore.
States are giving advice
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan says that there is no shortage of vaccines in the country. To prevent wastage, states are being repeatedly advised to review every day to increase focus on more wasted centers.
