Team Chabuk-Gujarat Desk: The speed of the corona virus is steadily increasing. The situation in Maharashtra is becoming increasingly serious. Apart from this, corona infection is also increasing rapidly in states like Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat.
Many states have started taking strict steps. The night curfew has been implemented in the capital Delhi till April 30, while the night curfew is being implemented in 20 cities of Gujarat from today.
Center said, next four weeks are very important
The central government said that due to increasing intensity of the epidemic, Covid-19 is spreading at a much faster pace than last year and in view of this, the next four weeks are going to be very important. The government emphasized public participation to control the second wave of infection.
NITI Aayog member (health) Dr VK Paul said that the rapid increase in cases has worsened the epidemic situation in the country. He said that the weapons to fight the epidemic are there. Adherence to the rules of protection from covid-19, identification of detached areas, investigation, etc. should be implemented more effectively; improvements in medical infrastructure and vaccination campaigns need to be expedited.
Paul said that the intensity of the epidemic has increased and it is spreading more rapidly than last time. In some states this situation is worse than others but the increase in cases can be seen across the country.
He said that public participation is important to control the second wave. The next four weeks are going to be very important. The whole country will have to unite and make efforts to fight the epidemic.
Curfew in 20 cities of Gujarat
The state government has announced curfew in 20 cities from eight o’clock to six o’clock in the morning, as cases of corona virus infection increased rapidly in Gujarat. It will be effective from Wednesday to April 30.
Earlier in the day, the Gujarat High Court had said that the situation is getting “out of control” due to Covid-19 in the state. Simultaneously, the court suggested that a curfew or lockdown could be enforced for three to four days to break the chain of virus infection.
Till now, curfew was imposed in Ahmadabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from 9 am to 6 am. It was decided to impose a nighttime curfew in a meeting of the Corona Virus Core Group chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Rupani said that the High Court had given us some suggestions and we have decided on them. Earlier we had imposed curfew in four big cities of the state, now we have decided to impose curfew in 20 cities at night.
Uttar Pradesh government should look into possibility of night curfew: High court
Expressing concern over the growing cases of corona virus infection in Uttar Pradesh, the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to explore the possibility of imposing nighttime curfew so as to prevent congestion in social programs.
Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddharth Verma issued the instruction while hearing a public interest litigation through video conference. The court said that although the state government has taken necessary steps to deal with the threat of the second wave of Covid-19, it has come to notice that the instructions issued by the state are not being followed properly by the people and this concern subject is. The bench asked the district administration and police officials to ensure 100% wearing of masks.
