Team Chabuk-Sports Desk: Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will have to improve their bowling in front of the Punjab Kings’ strong batting line-up on Friday to get back on the path to victory in the IPL. In the first match, Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai by seven wickets while Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by four runs.
Given the role of dew at Wankhede Stadium, the team that wins the toss would like to bowl first. Chennai had scored 188 for seven in the first match here, with Suresh Raina contributing 54, Moin Ali 36 and Sam Curran 34. Royals captain Sanju Samson scored 119 off 63 balls in the first match to give victory on his own but missed by four runs. Young Arshdeep Singh did not allow him to make 13 runs in the last over and led the team to victory. Mohammed Shami also took two wickets for 33 runs, but Zay Richardson and Riley Meredith proved costly. The team has spent a total of Rs 22 crore on both.
