Team Chabuk-Sports Desk: After the defeat in the fourth T20 match against India, now England has suffered a major blow from the ICC. The ICC has slashed match fees for England players to maintain a slow over rate in the fourth T20 match played in Ahmadabad.
The ICC has fined the entire team, including Captain Eoin Morgan, 20 percent of the match fee for maintaining a slow over rate. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees has taken this action after bowling one over less in the allotted time on behalf of Morgan & Team.
According to Rule 2.22 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct for Offenses for Minimum Over Speed, ‘Players are fined 20 percent of their match fees for throwing each over short of their team’s allotted time.’
England captain Eoin Morgan has been found guilty in the case and he accepted the proposed fine, so there is no need for a formal hearing.
Speaking of the match, in the fourth match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmadabad, India lost the toss and batted first and scored 185 runs. In reply, England managed to score only 177 runs and lost the match in the last over. For India, Suryakumar Yadav scored the most 57 runs while Shardul Thakur took the most three wickets in bowling. Now the last and decisive match of the five-match series between the two teams will be played on March 20, i.e. Saturday.
