Ashwin played three Tests against England in the month of February, in which he made 106 for India in the second innings, with Chennai’s amazing performance with the ball in the second Test. A total of seven wickets in both innings of the third Test played in Ahmadabad, taking his wicket count to 400. He earned this honor by taking 24 wickets, scoring a total of 176 runs with the bat in the month. However, by the end of the four-match series, he reduced his wicket to 32.
Root and Meyers left behind
England’s Test captain Joe Root was also impressed with the bat and ball, scoring a total of 333 runs and taking 6 wickets in the three Test matches played against India in February. Root, who got a nomination, last month too, scored 218 runs in the first match of the current series against India. However, after this, his bat remained silent throughout the series. Scored 6 and 33 in the second match, 17 and 19 in the third match. Only five and 30 runs were scored off his bat in the fourth Test in March.

The third contender was the young West Indies batsman Kyle Mayers, who made 210 in the second innings when he made his debut against Bangladesh in February, helping his team reach the target of 395 runs.
England’s Tammy Beaumont hit the ground in women’s category
In addition to England’s women’s cricket, Nat Sciver was also nominated along with Brooke Holiday of New Zealand. The winners of the nominated players for these awards are given every month by the Voting Academy in which eminent members of the cricket world have got a place.
It includes senior journalists, former sportsperson, broadcasters and some members of the ICC Hall of Fame at the Voting Academy with former India cricket veteran VVS Laxman and veteran sports journalist Mona Parthasarathy.
