The Chabuk-Sports Desk : The third Test match between India and England ended in two days. Former England veterans are blaming the pitch for the outcome of the match in just two days. Former England captain Michael Vaughan has made very serious allegations against the ICC. Vaughan says that the more concessions the ICC gives to India for making such pitches, the more ineffective it will look.
England decided to bat first after winning the toss in the Ahmadabad Test. England scored 112 in the first innings while the team was all out for 81 in the second innings. Due to poor batting, England lost by 10 wickets on the second day of the match. With the victory in the Ahmadabad Test, India took a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
Vaughan says the ICC looks ineffective ahead of the BCCI. The former captain said, “The more concessions given to powerful countries like India, the more ineffective the ICC will look.”
Vaughan has expressed displeasure with the BCCI. “India wants to create a pitch like this. The governing body of the game gives it a waiver and this harms Test cricket,” he said.
failed to play the spin
India’s veteran players and captain Virat Kohli have defended the Ahmadabad pitch. Veteran players, including captain Virat Kohli, believe that in order for the match to end in two days, the players should be blamed instead of the pitch because they failed to play the spin.
England lost its rhythm
Nasir Hussain, the former captain of the England cricket team, believes that England lost its rhythm due to playing on two difficult pitches in a row and he was looking frightened in the second innings of the third Test match against India. Hussein said that it is completely connected with the mentality and England will have to find a way to draw the series which will be a good result for them.
Hussein said on the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast, “Especially on this pitch where one ball was spinning and the other was skidding, you lose rhythm. Playing two consecutive Test matches on such pitches adds to your mindset. England looked intimidated in the second innings. I don’t think it was a pitch that would have scored 81 runs, but it was a more difficult pitch than Chennai. “
Akshar bowled accurately
Left-arm spinner Akshar Patel wreaked havoc on England. He took 11 wickets for 70 runs in the match. Hussain said, “Akshar bowled accurately. He bowled wicket to wicket. Some balls took a turn, some did not. He took most of the wickets on balls that didn’t turn, so people will look at it and say why these straight balls weren’t played.”
The former captain added, “It has to do with the mentality of the team and the truth is that most of the talk is about pitches and umpires. I have not heard any England player say that the conditions are unfair. They have to find a way and Jack Crowley’s first innings half-century is positive. The series is still not over. A 2-2 draw against India would not be a bad result in any way. “
