The visit of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to India after secession from the European Union will be the first major international visit, in which efforts will be made to increase the opportunities for the UK.
In addition, the main purpose of Boris Johnson’s visit will be to keep an eye on China. India had invited British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the occasion of the 72nd Republic Day but the visit had to be canceled due to rising cases of corona virus.
The UK aims to strengthen democratic strength in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as deal with China. For some time now, there has been tension between China and the UK over the Hong Kong, Corona epidemic and the lack of an active role for Chinese company Huawei in the UK’s 5G network, which is no secret.
Last month, the UK invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the G7 summit in June in the Cornwall region. The G7 includes the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US. The UK had invited India, South Korea and Australia as guest nations to the conference.
Wishing India a happy Republic Day, Prime Minister Johnson had said, ‘I look forward to coming to India this year, so that we can further strengthen our friendship and further our relationship.’ He had said that the resolution was taken by Prime Minister Modi and me.
