Team Chabuk-National Desk: તમિલનાડુના કુન્નૂરની નજીક વાયુસેનાનું હેલિકોપ્ટર ક્રેશ થયું, તેમાં CDS બિપીન રાવત (Bipin Rawat) અને તેમની પત્ની સહિત અન્ય અગિયાર લોકોના નિધન થયા છે. હેલિકોપ્ટરમાં સીડીએસ બિપિન રાવત સહિત 13 લોકો સવાર હતા. રક્ષા મંત્રી આવતીકાલે સંસદમાં આ ઘટના અંગે પૂરી જાણકારી આપશે.
રક્ષામંત્રી રાજનાથ સિંહે ટ્વીટ કરી લખ્યું હતું કે તમિલનાડુમાં આજે એક દુર્ભાગ્યપૂર્ણ હેલિકોપ્ટર દુર્ઘટનામાં ચીફ ઓફ ડિફેન્સ સ્ટાફ જનરલ બિપિન રાવત, (Bipin Rawat) તેમની પત્ની અને 11 અન્ય સશસ્ત્ર બળના જવાનોના આકસ્મિક નિધનથી દુ:ખ થયું. તેમનું આકસ્મિક નિધન આપણા સશસ્ત્ર બળો અને દેશ માટે અપૂર્ણીય ક્ષતિ છે.

તમિલનાડુના કુન્નૂર પાસે બુધવારની બપોરે 12 વાગ્યાની આસપાસ આ ગોઝારી દુર્ઘટના ઘટી હતી. જે હેલિકોપ્ટરની સાથે આ દુર્ઘટના ઘટી તે રશિયન બનાવટનું MI-17V5 હતું. ડબલ એન્જિન ધરાવતું આ હેલિકોપ્ટર અત્યંત સુરક્ષિત માનવામાં આવે છે.

સીડીએસ બિપિન રાવત ઉંટીની પાસે વેલિંગટન ડિફેન્સ સર્વિસ સ્ટાફ કોલેજમાં લેક્ચર દેવા જઈ રહ્યા હતા. હેલિકોપ્ટર સુલૂર એરબેઝથી વેલિંગટન જઈ રહ્યું હતું. ત્યારે જ ક્રેશ થઈ ગયું. બપોરે આશરે 12-30 વાગ્યે આ દુર્ઘટના જોતા નાનજપ્પનચથિરામ વિસ્તારમાં રહેતા કુમાર નામના એક યુવકે પોલીસ અને ફાયર વિભાગને ફોન જોડ્યો હતો.
એક અંગ્રેજી વેબસાઈટની રિપોર્ટના આધારે એક પ્રત્યક્ષદર્શીએ કહ્યું હતું કે, મેં હેલિકોપ્ટરને નીચે આવતા જોયું હતું. ભયાનક અવાજ સંભળાયો હતો. હેલિકોપ્ટર જમીન સાથે અથડાય તે પહેલા એક વૃક્ષની સાથે અથડાયું હતું. આ દુર્ઘટના આશરે 12-20 વાગ્યે થઈ હતી. પ્રત્યક્ષદર્શીએ એ પણ જણાવ્યું કે, આ વિસ્તારમાં રહેતો કુમાર નામનો યુવક તુરંત ફાયર વિભાગને જાણ કરી હતી. મેં હેલિકોપ્ટરમાંથી લોકોને પડતા અને સળગતા જોયા એટલે હું પણ ત્યાંથી અન્ય લોકોની સાથે ભાગ્યો હતો.
