Team Chabuk-Gujarat Desk: Punjab Kings left-handed explosive batsman Chris Gayle made a new record in the very first match of IPL 2021. Gayle, 41, became the first and only batsman to hit 350 sixes in IPL history.
He achieved this feat against the Rajasthan Royals in the match being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Gayle hit Ben Stokes for a six to deep square leg on the third ball of the eighth over and achieved the point.
AB de Villiers is in second place in the IPL in terms of maximum sixes. He has hit 237 sixes in 157 innings. At the same time, Dhoni is present in the third place with 216 sixes.
Talk about Gayle’s IPL performance, this is his 133rd match. He has scored 4801 runs for different teams. He has scored these runs at an average of 41.38 and a strike rate of around 150. Gayle also has six centuries and 31 half-centuries in his name.
