Openers
Given the many changes in the opening in the T20 series, there was confusion over the batting order for the ODI series as well. But on the eve of the match, team captain Virat Kohli took it away. Virat directly said that the experienced pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will start the innings in the ODI series.
Middle order
The T20 series against England also saw many changes in the middle order. Here Virat made several changes in his and Shreyas Iyer’s batting order. But this is hardly seen in the ODI series. Here once again, captain Kohli can be seen batting at his favorite place at number three. Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer, who has done well in ODIs, can also remain at number four.
Wicketkeeper
Rishabh Pant has performed tremendously in the last few times. He has improved his batting as well as his wicket keeping. In this case, the team management can include Pant in the team again in place of KL Rahul.
Allrounder
Hardik Pandya batted as well as bowled in the T20 series. He bowled after a long time and also appeared in good rhythm. In such a situation, he is set to play as a fast bowling all-rounder.
Spinners
Washington Sundar, who has made a name for himself fast and has become an important part of the team as a spin all-rounder, is also almost to play. Yujvendra Chahal proved to be quite expensive in the T20 series and was specially targeted by the British, so bowler Kuldeep Yadav can be tried in the first match.
Fast bowler
The team’s leading bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has achieved his rhythm. Returning to international cricket after a long absence, he bowled tremendously in the T20 series, especially in the last match.
