The EU agency gave the green light
The European Union’s drug regulator said the AstraZeneca vaccine does not pose a risk of blood clots and the benefits of its use outweigh the risks. At the same time, the way has been cleared for people in European countries to get this vaccine.
Significantly, last week, there were reports of blood clots forming in the bodies of millions of people after taking the dose of this vaccine, after which many European countries banned the injection of AstraZeneca.
Germany, France and other countries have said they will wait for the vaccine to be approved by the European Medical Agency. “Our scientific opinion is that this vaccine is safe and effective in protecting people from covid-19, said Emer Cooke, head of the agency.
The British-Swedish pharmaceuticals company AstraZeneca said in a statement that more than 10 million vaccine beneficiaries were reviewed and that the Covid-19 vaccine was found to be completely safe for use.
WHO has given clean chit
The World Health Organization (WHO) had given a clean chit to the AstraZeneca vaccine, with the WHO saying no contact had been found between the vaccine and the clots.
