Prof. Mahamana Malaviya, Chairman of River Ganga River Development and Water Resource Management Research Center, BHU and a river scientist, Prof. BD Tripathi has appealed to the general public to keep a distance from the Ganges bath for the next 15 days.

BD Tripathi said that the Corona virus medicine is not yet available in the whole world. So far, the research report of the eradication of corona virus by Ganga water has not been completed.

In such a situation, people should keep a distance from the Ganges baths and the Ganges coast until confirmed to end of the virus. They reported that the virus spreads faster in water than on a dry surface and remains active for a longer period of time. With the flow of the Ganges water, the virus can reach more people.

Team of 12 scientists doing research

Pro. Tripathi said that Dr. Sandeep Shukla, Senior Scientist, Water Resource Department of Roorkee University has also expressed concern over the spread of infection through the Ganges. A team of 12 scientists is conducting research on the timing of the corona virus becoming active in flowing water. It is being ascertained how long this virus can remain active in water. It will be revealed after the research is completed.

Corona infection to about 40 saints

After bathing in Haridwar Kumbh, about 40 saints and saints associated with the akharas have got corona infection so far. Mahamandaleshwar Kapil Dev Das died of Corona infection. At the same time, Mahant Narendra Giri, President of Akhara Parishad, is admitted in Mahant Rameshwar Puri Hospital of Annapurna Math Temple. Nearly 49 lakh 31343 devotees have taken the royal bath.
