Team Chabuk : A vaccination program has been launched earlier this year to defeat the corona virus in the country. The second phase of vaccination will begin soon. About 27 crore beneficiaries aged 60 years and above will be vaccinated. This phase is divided into two groups. One group will get the free vaccine while the other group will have to pay for the vaccine.
Vaccination for both groups will begin early next month. Preference will be given to people above 60 years of age. Senior officials said that the government has also decided that in the second phase of vaccination, the beneficiaries can choose a different state except the state in which they live as per the voter list.
“There will be two pre-defined groups (in the next phase of vaccination),” a government source told The Indian Express. The government will define which group will get the free dose (vaccine). At the time of registration, the beneficiaries will know whether they are eligible for free vaccination or not.
‘The final details about who will get the vaccine for free and who will have to bear the cost themselves will be shared soon.’ the source said. Explain that the first phase of vaccination started from January 16. In this, the central government had borne the entire cost of vaccinating the priority groups of health and primary personnel.
The next phase of vaccination will begin in the first week of March, officials said. He said, Priority group will be 50 years and above. Preference will be given to 60 years and above within this group. They have to register first. Sources said that in the next phase, the information given by the beneficiaries while self-registering will be checked on the basis of voter list and Aadhaar data.
Meanwhile, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to the states to speed up vaccination and get vaccinated at least four days every week. In the letter, he said that all public health facilities are being mapped in Cold Chain Points, which are being finalized by the states.
