The ICC has fined the entire team, including captain Virat Kohli, 40 per cent of the match fee for slow over rate. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees has taken this action after Virat and the team bowled two over’s less in the allotted time. Kohli has admitted this mistake so there will be no further hearing.
According to Rule 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct relating to the offense of minimum over speed, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fee for throwing each over less than their team’s allotted time.’
