Team Chabuk-National Desk: The second wave of corona in the country has now become deadly. In the last one day, 459 people have died due to infection. For the first time in six months, more than 72 thousand new cases have been found.
On Thursday, for the first time in 172 days, a record 72 thousand new corona cases were registered. On the other hand, for the eighth day in a row, more than 50 thousand corona cases were registered. For the first time since last December 5, most people have died in a single day.
There have been 72,330 new corona cases in the last one day. During this time 459 people lost their lives. However 40,382 people have also recovered from the corona. Earlier, on October 10, 74,383 cases were registered. At present, the total number of infected patients in the country has exceeded 1.22 crore, out of which 1.14 crore have recovered. While 1,62,927 people have died. The number of active patients in the country is constantly increasing. This number has now reached 5,84,055.
There was a time when the number of corona infections in the country was declining. On February 1 this year, 8,635 new corona cases were registered. This is the lowest number of corona cases in a single day this year. According to the ICMR, 11.25 lakh samples were tested in the country last Wednesday, of which 5.8 per cent samples were found to be infected.
According to statistics, 227 infected people have died in a single day in Maharashtra. Until some time ago this figure was all over the country, but now so many deaths in a single state are the result of the deadly effect of the infection. There were 39,544 new cases of corona virus infection in Maharashtra last Wednesday. The highest number of cases in a single day in the state was reported three days ago, when 40,414 people were confirmed to be infected.
At the same time, the death rate from corona in the country has increased to 1.34 percent while the recovery rate has come down to 94 percent. The active rate has also risen to 4.55 percent. In the last one day alone, a record 31,489 active cases have been registered. Compared to other countries of the world, India ranks fifth in the world in active cases of Corona.
The Ministry of Health said that even though the highest number of deaths from corona has occurred in Maharashtra, there are some states in the country where not a single person infected with corona has died. These include Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura.
The Ministry of Health has informed that for the last few weeks, more than 80 percent cases were being received daily in six states of the country, but in the last one day, their number has increased to eight. Apart from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, TamilNadu, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are also included where 85 per cent cases have been found in one day. However, apart from these, there are also Rajasthan and Haryana where cases of corona are continuously increasing.
