Team Chabuk-National Desk: The rate of increase in corona cases and deaths in the country has reached alarming levels. Of these, more than 91 percent cases and deaths are in 10 states. The situation in Maharashtra, Punjab and Chhattisgarh is extremely delicate.
This information was given in the meeting of top officials with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, 93,249 new patients were found in the country in the last 24 hours and 513 people died. Earlier, on September 18, 197 days ago, 93 thousand cases were received in one day. From March 24, more than 50 thousand infected people continue to be found every day.
The health ministry said that for the past few weeks, the situation was serious in only eight states, but now 12 states have been hit by the second wave of corona. At present, the total number of infected patients in the country is 1,24,85,509, out of which 6,91,597 are active cases. 1,64,623 people have died from the infection. On February 1, 8,635 new patients were found. This number in one day was the lowest this year. Now it has increased 11 times.
However, no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours in Andaman-Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
There was a time when the number of corona infections in the country was declining. On February 1 this year, 8,635 new corona cases were found. This was the lowest number of corona cases in a single day this year. Now this number has increased 11 times.
Central will visit three states from April 6 to 14 with special awareness campaigns
Regarding the new cases of corona virus which are increasing day by day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered to take strict steps on comprehensive ban. In a review meeting with top officials of the central government on Sunday, the Prime Minister said that it was necessary to take drastic steps with comprehensive restrictions in the states where corona infection is spreading rapidly. He has directed to send central teams to three states, including Maharashtra, to bring the transition situation under control. At the same time, from April 6 to 14, it has been asked to run an awareness campaign on public participation for the prevention of corona across the country.
Corona is spreading rapidly in Maharashtra and Punjab on a daily basis
Maharashtra and Punjab, two states in the country badly affected by corona, have received the most patients in the last 24 hours. After this, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat are the top five states where Corona is spreading rapidly.
This result has come to light in the meeting held by the Cabinet Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health with all the States and Union Territories. According to new cases received daily in the last seven days, Maharashtra has seen an increase of 3.6 percent while Punjab has seen an increase of 3.2 percent. In the last two weeks till March 31, 4,26,108 cases have come to light in Maharashtra while 35,754 new cases have come to light in Punjab. If we talk about the deaths from Corona in the last two weeks, then till March 31, 60 percent of the total deaths in the country have occurred in Maharashtra and Punjab.
11 states highly sensitive
The Ministry of Health has placed eleven states Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana in the list of most sensitive. Given the rapidly increasing cases and deaths in these states, more attention needs to be paid here. In these states, 90 percent new cases of corona have been found, while 90.5 percent patients have died in the last 14 days till March 31.
Emphasis on increasing the rate of corona probe
The Center is constantly pushing for increased corona investigations so that the positivity rate comes down to less than five percent. At the same time, there is an emphasis on conducting 70 percent investigation through RT-PCR. Emphasis has been laid on providing regular treatment to critically ill patients as well as regular monitoring of patients undergoing home isolation. The 25 to 30 people who came in contact with the infected person have been asked to search and isolate them within 72 hours.
States should be fully prepared for war…
The Center has asked the states to be ready for war from the second wave of epidemic. Isolation ward, oxygen bed, ventilator, ICU and oxygen supply system are asked to be repaired. In addition, the ambulance has been asked to be ready under the covid protocol. Adequate staff has also been asked to be ready on contract.
Lockdown on weekends in Maharashtra, night curfew every day
The uddhav thackeray government has taken strict steps to control the uncontrollable corona infection in Maharashtra. In the cabinet meeting, it was decided to impose lockdown in the state from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday. Night curfew will also be applicable. Only those with the most essential services will be allowed at night.
During this time buses, trains and rickshaws will be allowed to run and only as many people will be able to travel in the bus as it has seats. In addition to the weekend lockdown, strict restrictions will also be imposed from 8 pm on Monday.
