Team Chabuk-National Desk: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that Jyotiraditya Scindia would never become the chief minister by staying in the BJP and he would have to return to the Congress. According to sources, Rahul made the remarks at a meeting of the National Executive of the Indian Youth Congress. A source said that Rahul Gandhi said in the meeting, I had told Scindia that you work hard, one day you will definitely become the Chief Minister.
The Congress leader sarcastically said that Scindia is a backbencher in the BJP. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi said that you people should take it in writing, Scindia will never become the Chief Minister in the BJP.
Scindia had joined the BJP in March last year amid a confrontation with former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Rajya Sabha member Digvijay Singh. More than 20 MLAs from the Scindia camp had left the Congress after which the Congress government led by Kamal Nath fell.
During the meeting of the Youth Congress, the senior office bearers of the organization urged Rahul Gandhi to take over the responsibility of the party president once again.
According to sources, in the meeting, Rahul Gandhi appreciated the work of this organization and also called upon the office bearers of the Youth Congress to work for the enhancement of the party’s ideology and not to bow down to the RSS.
Sources said that Youth Congress President Srinivasa Biwi told Rahul Gandhi in this meeting that he is requested to assume the post of Chairman of the All India Congress Committee. The office bearers present there applauded and supported it. Sources said that Rahul Gandhi did not respond to the request of the office bearers of the Youth Congress.
